Custom Dress Shirts ⭑ Created in Houston
At B. Kreps, Houston’s top bespoke tailor, a dress shirt is not just a foundation layer—it is the daily marker of refinement and confidence. Whether worn beneath a suit or on its own, a well-cut shirt is the garment you will reach for most often, and it deserves the same level of precision and care as a tailored jacket.
Your choices of fabric and detail
We source shirting fabrics from Italy and England in an array of textures, weights, and patterns: crisp poplin for a sharp business look, breathable linen blends for warm Houston evenings, or brushed cotton for softness and comfort. Clients may choose from a spectrum of collars—from spread to button-down—cuffs, plackets, and buttons. Each detail contributes to how the shirt expresses your style, whether understated and professional or more relaxed and personal.
Unbeatable Fit
Most shirtmakers measure around the chest once and apply that number across the pattern. At B. Kreps, we go further. We distinguish between the front half and the back half of the torso, capturing the true balance of your frame. Sloping shoulders, erect posture, or uneven collar height can all be accounted for. This ensures your shirt sits cleanly at the shoulders and collar, without pulling, sagging, or gaping.
The B. Kreps Bespoke Process
Initial Sizing and Pattern Creation: The process begins with a try-on garment, which reveals posture and fit issues a tape measure cannot. This acts like a tailor’s toile, showing immediately where refinements are needed. We record dimensions such as chest, waist, and sleeves, while also noting posture adjustments like sloping shoulders or high collar stance. Because the adjustments are visible, you see and feel how the shirt is being shaped around your body in real time. Once fit is established, you select fabric, collar, cuff, buttons, and other style details. A unique pattern is then drafted from your data and sent to our atelier.
Production: The shirt is cut from the bolt of cloth — never altered from a pre-existing template — with close attention to finishing and collar balance.
Fitting: Once the shirt returns to Houston, you come in for your first fitting. If any final adjustments are required, our in-house tailor will make them.
Future Continuity: Every adjustment is logged into your pattern, so future shirts are based on your latest, up-to-date measurements.
The outcome is a dress shirt that moves with your body and carries you into any personal or professional situation with confidence. The entire process takes between 5-6 weeks.

From the first fitting to the final tweaks of the finished garment, the entire process takes between 5-6 weeks.

While it is possible to conduct fittings outside of the store, we strongly encourage our clients to visit our store for the first fitting at least. It allows us to show you the full selection of fabrics and customization options available to you, in addition to learning your lifestyle and sartorial preferences.
We believe the in-store experience is one of the joys of bespoke clothing and our customer testimonials prove that point emphatically. The truth is, it is hard to reproduce that experience in a time-pressured office environment. Once we have fine-tuned your fit, we can bring fabrics and styling accessories to your office. But then you miss out on spending time with Magic the Dawg!
