Custom Sport Coats ⭑ Created in Houston
A sport coat is one of the most versatile pieces in a man’s wardrobe. Unlike a suit jacket, it’s designed to be worn with non-matching trousers, which opens up endless combinations for work, travel, and social occasions. But the flexibility of a sport coat can also expose its weaknesses—off-the-rack versions often don’t hang right, pull at the shoulders, or lose their shape after a few wears.
At B. Kreps, Houston’s only full service custom tailor, we build each sport coat from the ground up. We don’t start from a factory-made jacket. Instead, we fit you in a try-on garment, making more than 30 adjustments in real time. This approach captures the unique way you stand, move, and carry yourself—subtleties that can’t be read by a measuring tape alone. The result is a jacket that feels as comfortable at a client meeting as it does at a weekend dinner.
The Advantages of Going Custom
Custom means control. You choose the fabric, weight, weave, and details—whether it’s a lightweight hopsack wool for Houston’s heat, a brushed cashmere for cool evenings, or a textured tweed for travel. We’ll guide you on lapel style, pocket shape, lining options, and vent configuration, making sure each choice suits your frame and intended use. With a bespoke pattern made just for you, the proportions are balanced, the drape is clean, and the armholes and sleeves are cut for unrestricted movement.
From First Fitting to Final Stitch
Your first appointment takes place at one of our two Houston locations. After the try-on garment fitting, your sport coat is cut and sewn at our atelier in Amsterdam, then returned for a second fitting in Houston. We fine-tune every element before delivery, and keep your personal pattern on file so your next commission builds on a perfect foundation.

While it is possible to conduct fittings outside of the store, we strongly encourage our clients to visit our store for the first fitting at least. It allows us to show you the full selection of fabrics and customization options available to you, in addition to learning your lifestyle and sartorial preferences.
We believe the in-store experience is one of the joys of bespoke clothing and our customer testimonials prove that point emphatically. The truth is, it is hard to reproduce that experience in a time-pressured office environment. Once we have fine-tuned your fit, we can bring fabrics and styling accessories to your office. But then you miss out on spending time with Magic the Dawg!
