OUR TEAM
Brian Kreps, President & Co-Owner
Brian Kreps is the founder of B. Kreps, Houston’s top bespoke tailor. A veteran of the menswear industry, Brian began his career in an unlikely place: while studying Middle Eastern archaeology in college. Drawn to clothing from a young age—his father, an Air Force colonel, inspired him with his reverence for style—Brian began moonlighting at a new independent menswear and womenswear boutique, while studying for his degree. But, within six months, he was promoted to men's buyer and manager and decided that his true passion lay not in the dig sites of antiquity, but merchanting and interfacing with customers. Unable to resist its siren call, Brian left his studies to pursue a career in retail.
His formative years were spent at Mark Shale, a pioneering Chicago-based specialty retailer that, at its peak, operated eight stores across the Midwest. During his eight-year tenure there, including as Division Manager of the St. Louis store, Brian absorbed best-in-class practices in merchandising, operations, and client service. Mark Shale’s emphasis on innovation and going “above and beyond” for customers left a lasting imprint on his retail philosophy.
Over the course of four decades, Brian has worked across nearly every segment of the menswear industry—from buying and visual merchandising to wholesale, luxury retail, and made-to-measure tailoring. But it is his deep relationships with clients and his love of service that remain the heart of his work. Whether helping a client design the perfect suit or refining the B. Kreps bespoke process, Brian is driven by a singular mission: to deliver exceptional quality and care, with style that reflects the wearer’s individuality.
Joshua Burts, Showroom Manager & Co-Owner
Josh’s eye for detail and love of clothes date back to childhood afternoons spent beside his mother’s sewing machine. A long career in fashion retail followed, where he became known not only for his sharp taste but also for his ability to turn even the most hesitant shopper into a confident dresser. “The best part,” he says, “is watching someone who’s never cared about clothes suddenly light up - when they realize it’s not about trends, it’s about owning who they are.” Josh’s philosophy is rooted in honesty and communication: he tells clients what flatters them, not what’s fashionable, and they trust him for it. What keeps him hooked isn’t the sale, but the moment a client looks in the mirror and recognizes himself - just sharper.
Dinora Chavarria, Operations Manager & Showroom Consultant
With more than thirty years at one of Houston’s legendary retailers, Norton Ditto, Dinora first met Brian Kreps there - and the two discovered a shared belief that great clothing starts with genuine care for the client. “When a client texts me at five a.m. asking if their outfit works, that’s trust - and I love that,” she says. Her relationships often span years: clients bring their sons for their first suits, their wives stop by just to say hello, and everyone asks after Magic, the showroom dog. At B. Kreps, she brings the same steadiness and attention that have defined her entire career, creating an atmosphere that feels less like a showroom and more like home.

FAQs
-
From the first fitting to the final tweaks of the finished garment, the entire process takes between 5-6 weeks.
-
We can request a rush that can narrow the ETA from five weeks to three. There is an additional charge depending on the garment but normally it’s about $150.
-
While it is possible to conduct fittings outside of the store, we strongly encourage our clients to visit our store for the first fitting at least. It allows us to show you the full selection of fabrics and customization options available to you, in addition to learning your lifestyle and sartorial preferences.
We believe the in-store experience is one of the joys of bespoke clothing and our customer testimonials prove that point emphatically. The truth is, it is hard to reproduce that experience in a time-pressured office environment. Once we have fine-tuned your fit, we can bring fabrics and styling accessories to your office. But then you miss out on spending time with Magic the Dawg!

Our garments are made by our tailoring atelier in Amsterdam, Holland. But final adjustments are made by our in-house master tailors in Houston.
