Dormeuil Suits ⭑ Created in Houston
For over 175 years, Dormeuil has stood at the pinnacle of luxury men’s suiting fabrics. Founded in Paris in 1842, the house of Dormeuil has supplied cloth to royalty, heads of state, and the world’s most discerning dressers - earning a reputation for technical excellence, innovation, and unmistakable refinement. Today, Dormeuil remains family-owned and continues to push the boundaries of what fine suit cloth can be, blending heritage weaving with modern performance.
At B. Kreps, we offer Dormeuil suits made entirely through our bespoke process - cut and sewn specifically for you, using Dormeuil fabrics selected for climate, lifestyle, and professional need. As one of the only stockists of Dormeuil suiting in Texas, we give Houston clients rare access to one of the world’s most prestigious cloth houses, paired with true bespoke tailoring.
The legacy of Dormeuil cloth
Dormeuil is renowned for producing some of the most technically advanced and visually refined fabrics in menswear. From crisp Super 110s and Super 130s worsteds to luxurious wool-silk blends and innovative performance cloths, Dormeuil fabrics are engineered to drape cleanly, breathe comfortably, and retain their shape over time.
Many of Dormeuil’s collections are woven exclusively in limited runs, making them especially sought after by men who value individuality and understatement over trend-driven fashion. These fabrics reward precise tailoring - something that can only be achieved through a bespoke cut, rather than a pre-existing garment.
At B. Kreps, our Dormeuil suits are bespoke, not made to measure or off the rack.
B. Kreps is Houston’s top bespoke tailor and Houston’s only full-service custom tailor offering a complete, ground-up bespoke process. We do not alter finished garments, and we do not work from factory templates. Every Dormeuil suit we make begins with a dedicated try-on garment, allowing us to shape your fit in three dimensions rather than relying on static measurements.
During your first fitting, we make over 30 in-person adjustments - addressing posture, shoulder slope, balance, sleeve pitch, chest shape, and natural movement. From there, your unique pattern is drafted and the final garment is cut and sewn at our atelier in Amsterdam, then returned to Houston for a second fitting and final refinements.
The full process typically takes five to six weeks, resulting in a Dormeuil suit that feels composed, effortless, and unmistakably personal.
Dormeuil suits adapted to the needs of Houston
Houston’s climate demands intelligent fabric selection and thoughtful construction. Dormeuil’s lighter-weight worsteds and breathable blends perform exceptionally well in warm conditions while maintaining a sharp, professional appearance throughout the day. Whether you are commissioning a business suit, a formal three-piece, or a versatile jacket-and-trouser combination, Dormeuil fabrics allow for precision without compromise.
Because we retain your pattern and fitting notes, future Dormeuil commissions benefit from continuity and refinement - each garment building naturally on the last.
Let us create a Dormeuil suit that fits precisely - built around your posture, proportions, professional life, and personality.

FAQs
-
From the first fitting to the final tweaks of the finished garment, the entire process takes between 5-6 weeks.

We can request a rush that can narrow the ETA from five weeks to three. There is an additional charge depending on the garment but normally it’s about $150.

While it is possible to conduct fittings outside of the store, we strongly encourage our clients to visit our store for the first fitting at least. It allows us to show you the full selection of fabrics and customization options available to you, in addition to learning your lifestyle and sartorial preferences.
We believe the in-store experience is one of the joys of bespoke clothing and our customer testimonials prove that point emphatically. The truth is, it is hard to reproduce that experience in a time-pressured office environment. Once we have fine-tuned your fit, we can bring fabrics and styling accessories to your office. But then you miss out on spending time with Magic the Dawg!
